Your Guide to Reserving Space at Neland

Neland Church aims to fulfill its mission of extending the deep welcome of Christ to all by opening the door to community meetings, local ministries and neighborhood events. Our policy focuses on accessible, affordable rental for a space that fits the occasion, be it ceremonial, recreational or informal. Ministries are our priority, but we also can host social gatherings. Neighbors in the King Park area have the same consideration as Neland members and others active in the life of the church.

If you would like to know more about our spaces or rental opportunities, please email Events Coordinator Dan Hawkins us at

If you have an event in mind, check for available dates with Administrator Rick Theule ( Then give us as many details as possible by filling out our online form. Dan will contact you about a walk-through to discuss how our space fits your plans.

We look forward to talking with you.

Neland ministries and ministry partners have priority for using the church facilities.  People who are active in the life of the church and/or who live in the King Park Neighborhood Association (Eastern to MLK to Giddings to Adams) are next in line, followed by other individuals and groups.  Ministry uses have priority over social gatherings.

Organizers may rent one or more parts of the building but events will be limited those areas and subject to Neland Policy.  Note:  Weddings and other special events require additional considersations.

How to Get Started

  • Fill out the Facility Use Form.  A church staff member will receive your request and follow up with you about the availability of your desired day.  Available hours for events are generally from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 1:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday.  Note:  Wednesday nights are ministry demand nights for church programining.
  • Our Events Coordinator will field questions and meet with you to work through the official application form; receive the $25 rental deposit free; and talk through your event.
  • Secure the date.  Pay all costs 14 days before your event.  That includes the refundable deposit of $100, a custodial fee of $50 (minimum) and any extra services.

There are additional costs for sound and light services operated by a Neland technician; on-site food preparation (which must be overseen by Neland kitchen liasons); and for Neland musicians.

  • Get started as soon as possible
  • Be sure to include time for setup, takedown, and cleanup in the hours you request.
  • Neland requires a "facility host" to be present during all uses.  The host can be a Neland staff member, ministry leader, or other individual trained in hospitality and safety procedures.
