Visitors

Neland Church is located at 940 Neland Avenue, SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The parking lot is accessible off of Alto Avenue and Watkins Street. Street parking is also available. There are four entrances to the church building, including two off of the parking lot and two off of Neland Avenue.

Handicapped Accessibility

Neland’s parking lot contains numerous handicapped parking spaces in the northwest corner of the lot, including van-accessible spots. These parking spaces are adjacent to Neland’s main handicapped-accessible entrance. This entrance leads to the elevator where an attendant is stationed to help both before and after the service. The southern entrance off of Neland Avenue is also accessible. Restrooms on both levels of the church are handicapped accessible. Several pews in the sanctuary are designed to accommodate wheelchairs. These are located in the southeastern area of the sanctuary close to the door nearest the elevator.

Large Print Bulletins, Bibles, and Hymnals
Large print bulletins are available from the bulletin racks and from the ushers. Large Print hymnals and Bibles are available at the back of the sanctuary and from the ushers.

Hearing Assistance
Neland Church is equipped with a T-Coil / Loop Assistive Listening System.  

Children at Neland
We welcome children! They are an important part of our worshipping community. All children are welcome to stay through the entire worship service and for fellowship time after the service.

Nursery Care
is provided for children during the morning and evening services. The nursery is located on the lower level.

Children in Worship 10:15 – 11:00  Children aged 3 through first grade participate in a worship they understand during the morning worship service. Children begin the worship service sitting with their families and leave during the children’s blessing.

Library facilities are available after each service, with an excellent selection of books for both adults and children in a wide variety of categories. The library is open Sundays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and is located on the lower level.

Prayer partners are available after each service at the front of the sanctuary, for those who desire to pray for a need or joy in their own life or of someone they know. 

Refreshments are served in the Fellowship Hall after the morning worship service. Come join us, check out Ministry News and events at the Ministry Center and fellowship with members and friends.

Church School   11:15 – 12:10 Church School provides children Kindergarten to 8th grade instruction in the Bible and Christian faith.

Catechism 11:15 – 12:05 Grades 9 – 11 learn about the reformed tradition and the doctrines of the Christian Reformed Church.

Adult Education   11:25 – 12:05 Hear and participate in topics, relevant to the ministry and the world.
